I have been on Paxil for 8 months; prescribed for anxiety, and anxiety attacks. I have attempted to get off Paxil several times.I have gone from the initial 20mg.and down to 10mg.,over several weeks and had shock sensations in my head and body, and whooshing/pulse like sensations in my head and body. Several times I got severe migraine headaches. I have had constant nightmares, since withdrawal started. I seemed to finally level out without to much affect, at 10mg. so I tried 5mg., and even more severe side-effects started to happen, similar to previously described. Each time, I have had to go from 5mg. back up to 10mg., because I could not take the shock/pulse like sensations, and felt very ill. Each attempt seems to develop less intensity of symptoms, so will keep trying. I do not feel the same, and friends noticed the changes before I did; the drug is very sneaky! I find myself doing and thinking things, I never had before; which is a story in itself. This drug clearly did not correct any imbalance, as television commercials claimed it would; and it certainly is quite habit-forming. This drug, and probably others-like it, need be taken off the market; unfortunately, then our choices are little to none, for those that need real help?
